Housing fish in these environments
can be very rewarding and tranquil. However, if you wish to
mix other animals such as reptiles or small birds, you will
be limited to what type of fish to put in.
Tropical fish in this case are not recommended because they
can get sick very easily, especially when other animals are
using the water.
The fish recommended in this case are Koi or large feeder fish
generally known as Comets.
To start off on the safe side, a good test to use are small
feeder fish. They are inexpensive and generally 50% out of the
lot during the first week will survive. This sometimes happens
because some of the fish already were on there way to dying.
The ones left tend to be the hearty ones and will continue to
grow into very large fish and have brilliant orange colors.
When it comes time to clean
the unit, the water can be drained to the bottom if necessary
for the times of a thorough cleaning.
You will not need to take the fish out because we have already
accommodated for that. The unit comes with a reservoir where
the fish will find their way down to it since that is the deepest
part of the habitat.
Please inform us if you are looking to accommodate fish so we
can determine the size of reservoir in reference to the number
and size of fish you may be thinking of having.
Filters can be used, and the type of filter would be determined
by how many animals your looking to cohabit within the same
enclosure.
